A 45-year-old woman caused quite the commotion yesterday in Tuen Mun after a Light Rail train's doors clipped her foot as she rushed to get on board. The woman, surnamed He, and her young son ran onto a train as the doors were closing at San Wai Station. While He's son got into the carriage safely, his mother's left foot got caught in the door. After she boarded the train, He reportedly started screaming incessantly that the train captain had injured her, and owed her an apology.

In footage shared by Apple Daily, one passenger can be heard saying, "Quiet down, bitch", while another sarcastically said, "Speak up! The video won't pick up your voice otherwise." One bystander referred to He's accent, which she assumed was mainland Chinese, saying, "Learn how to speak Cantonese before you start scolding Hongkongers!" At one point, He and another passenger were filmed getting into a minor physical confrontation. The captain stopped the train at Ming Kum Station where staff asked He to disembark the vehicle... which she did, but only to stand in front of it and literally stop it in its tracks.

Eyewitnesses told Apple Daily that He yelled, "Start the train! Go ahead, hit and kill me!" as her son cried loudly from the sidelines. Video of He standing on the tracks (while toting an umbrella, because UV damage waits for no man) shows her swearing at Light Rail personnel and saying that she felt bullied by the staff and passengers. In a bid to get her off the tracks, the train captain apologised to He, but the 45-year-old said it was "too late".  After about seven minutes, He was eventually coaxed into leaving by a member of staff, who led her off the tracks and sent her to the hospital for her foot injury. A spokesperson for MTR Corp. told Apple Daily that He's alleged actions are in violation of the Light Rail's regulations on trespassing, the maximum fine for which is HKD5,000. The spokesperson said He has been issued with a notice of intended prosecution.
